Before construction, ensure that the construction surface is clean, dry, flat, and free of grease, dust, and other debris. Uneven surfaces can be smoothed using appropriate filler materials.
Use scissors or a knife to cut the butyl tape to the desired size and shape. Make sure you cut neatly to avoid wrinkling or tearing the tape.
Apply the butyl tape to the construction surface, making sure the tape fits tightly to the surface and eliminates air. Use tools such as a scraper or roller to compact the tape to ensure a good bond.
At the seams, bond the overlapping parts of butyl tape to ensure reliable sealing. You can use a heat gun or flame to heat the tape surface to enhance the bonding effect.
After the construction is completed, check the bonding condition of the butyl tape to ensure that there are no hollows, bubbles, and other defects. Local trimming can be done if necessary.
